Making A Positive Impact: Dylan’s Coaching Philosophy
Dylan’s coaching philosophy is rooted in passion and giving back to athletes with big aspirations. He believes athletes can reach their full potential if they are willing to work. Dylan strives to be the resource he did not have as a player. As a player, Dylan wanted to learn everything that could hold a player back, regardless of skill, in-game IQ, or natural athleticism. This desire to know what can hold a player back has led him to work hard to understand all fitness pathways that could benefit his clients.
Dylan takes a patient and scientific approach to his training, teaching foundational skills required for success in the long term. He desires to create the most efficient players that can fit into any team structure at any level.
Private Basketball Trainer in Denver
Dylan played high school basketball at Willis High School, where he lettered for two seasons, co-captained his Junior year, and captained his Senior year. He was awarded an honorable mention for all district in both years. Dylan was initially recruited to play for Lindenwood-Bellville University before transferring and walking on at Bacone College. When his desire to play faded, he transitioned into coaching and training for the remainder of his college years.
He was a student assistant at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for the Men’s Basketball program. He volunteered to coach at the varsity level for both boys and girls and helped run junior high programs for boys and girls after his time with UMHB Men. During the summer season, he traveled the country coaching with Point Guard College on their camp’s circuit. He learned about winning culture, organization, and communication at the highest levels from other professional, college, and successful high school coaches worldwide.
Dylan took two years off from coaching to focus on his education. He received his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Exercise Physiology. While continuing his education, Dylan took pride in the challenge of learning about the body as much as possible. He wanted to learn about movement, athleticism, and nutrition, so he applied for and received an internship with Landow Performance in Denver, Colorado. Here he learned about the biomechanics (study of movement) of sprinting, change of direction, and weight lifting. This new perspective has shaped his approach to training as he has seen how the body matures and compensates for lack of strength, mobility, and stability.

Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Robert has lived in Colorado since 1984.
He currently coaches high school basketball at Manual High School in Denver, where he played basketball as a high school student. Robert has coached for Manual for over ten years, where he has served as the assistant and head coach for the girl’s varsity team and led the team to the state playoffs.
For the past six years, Robert has served as the head boys varsity coach, leading the team in 2019 to a state championship. Every year the team has made a major run in the state playoffs but has yet to secure a second championship trophy, but Coach Robert hasn’t given up; he is sure a second trophy is in their future!
Inspirational Private Basketball Trainer
After high school, Robert played college basketball at the junior college level for Victor Valley Community College in Victorville, California. This experience allowed him to grow and discover his strengths. He garnered attention from a few four-year schools in California, but he did not pursue the path. Not training for this opportunity is one of Robert’s biggest regrets, but he would not trade the experience or knowledge he gained playing at Victor Valley Community College; the experience was invaluable.
Basketball Training Philosophy
Training is critical to improving one’s game. Over the years, Robert has helped young men and women improve their game and basketball IQ through tailored coaching programs that better the individual on and off the court. As a coach and trainer, Robert finds it gratifying to witness the growth and progress of athletes who invest the time and energy into training and ultimately reach their individual athletic promises.

Reviews
Coach Dylan is an excellent basketball coach who is very professional and sincere, managing every bit of the session efficiently without wasting a second. He explains and demonstrates the techniques methodically and encourages until my son progresses with the proper form.
My son and I feel very fortunate to have Coach Dylan training us.
From strength and conditioning to shooting form, Dylan has covered lots of ground in a short amount of time while tracking statistics to show tangible growth, which is super encouraging to athletes trying to level up their game!
We highly recommend working with Dylan for private instruction!
